Learn how to make Sally’s Potion Bottles from “The Nightmare Before Christmas”  for your own night of mischief!  Sally is ready and waiting with her potion bottles! This Halloween you can have your very own set to display around the house!

“This post/recipe originally appeared on my main blog BigBearsWife.com”

How to Make Sally's Potion Bottles from The Nightmare Before Christmas - Worms Wort, Frog's Breath and Deadly Night Shade

If you’ve read my food blog, BigBearsWife.com you have probably noticed that when Halloween comes around, there is a bit of a Nightmare Before Christmas theme happening! I mean after all I did make Jack Skellington Apples, I’ve made Jack Skellington Oreos, I’ve decorated the house in a The Nightmare Before Christmas theme and our pumpkins have even been carved as Jack and Sally before!

So what else did I need to add the “Nightmare Before Christmas” touches to the house? Why I needed Sally’s Potion Bottles of course!

Sally uses these potions when she makes soup for Dr. Finkelstein in the movie! The Deadly Night Shade puts him to sleep so that she can sneak out 🙂

Now I’ve got my own Worms Wort, Frog’s Breath, and Deadly Night Shade! Oh did you want your own bottles too? Good! I’ll show you how I made mine!

This is what you’ll need:
3 glass bottles – BigBear Painted mine with matte black spray paint
Mod-Podge
Foam Brushes
Scissors
Labels – I made mine using PicMonkey.com & printed them out
Once your bottles have been painted black and have had time to dry it’s time to put on the Worms Wort, Frog’s Breath and Deadly Night Shade labels!
Cut out each label and assign it to a bottle.

Next, using the foam brushes apply a thin layer of mod-podge to the back of the first label.

Stick the label onto the first bottle!

Then use the foam brush to apply a thin layer of mod-podge over the label.

Let dry!

Repeat these steps for the other two bottles!

Ahhh they’re just perfect for my coffee table, don’t you think?!!

Worms Wort!!!

and Frog’s Breath….. there’s nothing more suspicious than Frog’s Breath! 😉

Oh and what completes the display of Sally’s Potion Bottles? Why it’s Sally’s spoon! In the movie, Sally used a spoon with holes in it to “taste” the soup to show Dr. Finkelstein that she didn’t poison it! Haha little does he know that she’s using the spoon with holes for the taste test!

For Sally’s spoon, BigBear just drilled 5 holes into one of my old wooden spoons and it turned out perfectly!
