<p>Do you remember me telling you about <a href="https://www.southernhalloweenqueen.com/chocolate-weapons-bark/">my friend Kim and her obsession with The Walking Dead</a>?</p>
<p>She&#8217;s just darn crazy about this show and it shows in her creepy Halloween themed recipes because she likes to make recipes inspired by the Walking Dead show!</p>
<div>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #800080;"><strong>The chocolate zombie parts makes this perfect for Halloween. – Angie, Southern Halloween Queen</strong></span></p>

<p><span id="more-1089"></span></p>
<p>Now you don&#8217;t have to make this dip just for<a href="https://www.southernhalloweenqueen.com/"> Halloween, </a>you could really make it for any holiday and just leave the zombie parts out haha.</p>
<p>I think the zombie parts are just what this dip needs though to take it from tasty cherry treat to spooky bloody treat!</p>

<p>If you&#8217;re having a Halloween party or even a&nbsp;Halloween themed dinner, you&#8217;re going to need something to <a href="https://www.southernhalloweenqueen.com/category/halloween-drinks/">drink</a>. This&nbsp;Blood Red Punch is great, not only because&nbsp;it looks great for a Halloween party but it&#8217;s fantastic because it can be made kid-friendly or it can be turned into an adult cocktail!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><em><span style="color: #800080;"><strong>I love the spider ice cubes with this Blood Red Punch! – Angie, Southern Halloween Queen</strong></span></em></p>

<p>Your guests are going to love them!</p>

<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>“This post/recipe is from Heather and it originally appeared on <a href="https://www.sugardishme.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">SugarDishMe.com</a>”</strong></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter" src="https://www.sugardishme.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Bloody-Good-Cheesecake-Text.jpg" alt="Bloody Good Cheesecake Recipe" width="650" height="978" data-pin-title=" Bloody Good Cheesecake Recipe " data-pin-description="This Bloody Good Cheesecake Recipe is the spookiest Halloween treat that is sure to be the scary centerpiece of your party! <p>It’s that time!!! Halloween is near! So here’s what’s up — if you are new here, or you just forgot since last year, or if you maybe don’t<a href="https://instagram.com/sugardishme/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">&nbsp;follow me on Instagram</a>, then I should explain that I am just a tiny bit into Halloween. And by “tiny bit” I mean WE GO ALL OUT. So this year I decided to go a step beyond the usual handful of Halloween recipes that I share at kind of the last minute.<span id="more-719"></span></p>
<div id="content_btf_waypoint" class="content_btf_waypoint">
<div id="content_btf_wrapper" class="adunitwrapper content_btf_wrapper">
<div id="content_btf" class="content_btf adunit" data-google-query-id="CNuZ-4uNyNwCFUg6TwodHKgPtQ">
<p>This year I have partnered with 7 other bloggers to bring you all kinds of Halloween fun – recipes, ideas, how I decorate my house, and… this Bloody Good Cheesecake.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter" src="https://www.sugardishme.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Bloody-Good-Cheesecake-1.jpg" alt="Bloody Halloween Cheesecake" width="650" height="978" data-pin-title=" Bloody Good Cheesecake " data-pin-description="This Bloody Good Cheesecake Recipe is the spookiest Halloween treat that is sure to be the scary centerpiece of your party! Red velvet cheesecake is baked on a chocolate crust and covered in a blood red homemade gel frosting."></p>
<p>Is this spooky and fun or what?</p>
<div id="content_2_btf_waypoint" class="content_btf_waypoint">
<div id="content_2_btf_wrapper" class="adunitwrapper content_btf_wrapper">
<p>This bloody cheesecake recipes is actually just the creamiest red velvet. Plenty of chocolate, not too sweet, and with a chocolate graham crust. By itself the recipe is a little bit elegant. But the most compelling part of any Halloween dessert is really the presentation.</p>
<p>So to make this cake extra spooky I made homemade red gel frosting. It is SO easy. You’ll never pay too much to fuss with a mediocre tube of gel frosting again.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter" src="https://www.sugardishme.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Bloody-Good-Cheesecake-3.jpg" alt="Halloween Cheesecake with Fake Blood" width="650" height="885" data-pin-nopin="true"></p>
<p>here are a few elements going on here to make this cake all bloody and Halloween-ey. FIRST is the red gel frosting that I made with the help of this&nbsp;<a href="http://www.wilton.com/store/site/product.cfm?id=3E30B692-475A-BAC0-5E2DCBA130F86475&amp;killnav=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Wilton icing color</a>. The second is the base I put the cake on. I used a cardboard cake round like&nbsp;<a href="http://www.amazon.com/Wilton-10-Inch-Cake-Circle-12-Pack/dp/B0000CFMP7" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">this</a>, but if you don’t have any, I’ll tell you that cutting a 10″ circle from a pizza box and wrapping it in foil&nbsp;<em>totally</em>&nbsp;works.</p>
<p>Beneath the cardboard is a foam disc that I bought in the craft section at Walmart. I painted it black using some leftover chalkboard paint, but spray paint will also work. The foam is important because when you serve, you need to be able to get the knife to stand up in the cake without tipping over, plus you want it to be deep enough that it looks like you actually stabbed the cake.</p>

		<h3>Instructions</h3><ol class="simmer-instructions"><li itemprop="recipeInstructions" class="simmer-instruction">Preheat the oven to 325F. You will need to stir frequently; you can watch it thicken as it cooks.</li><li itemprop="recipeInstructions" class="simmer-instruction">Remove the mixture from the burner after 1-2 minutes. Stir in the vanilla and red icing color. I used about ½ teaspoon of color to achieve the look here. Let the gel cool before spooning it over the cake.</li><li itemprop="recipeInstructions" class="simmer-instruction">Refrigerate for 4 hours before serving.</li><li itemprop="recipeInstructions" class="simmer-instruction">NOTES</li><li itemprop="recipeInstructions" class="simmer-instruction">For the cake pictured, I actually made 2 batches of the gel frosting. For the first batch I used 4 teaspoons of cornstarch. It makes a thicker gel. I spread it over the top of the cake and let it drip down the sides. Then I refrigerated the cake. That kept the drips in place. The second batch I made with 3 teaspoons of cornstarch and spooned it over the cake when serving. It looks like fake blood and is pretty great.</li></ol>	</div><!-- .simmer-recipe-instructions -->

<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>“This post/recipe originally appeared on my main blog&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bigbearswife.com/">BigBearsWife.com</a>”</strong></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-11301" src="https://www.bigbearswife.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Bloody-Magic-Shell-Vampire-Magic-Shell-9-683x1024.jpg" alt="Bloody Magic Shell - Vampire Magic Shell (9)" width="683" height="1024"></p>
<p>Muhahahaha it&#8217;s October!! That means that we can totally be all about everything that&#8217;s Halloween! Ok,so let&#8217;s just pretend that I haven&#8217;t been all about Halloween since the last week of August! haha</p>
<p>Now we can officially be all about Halloween without judgment. <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f609.png" alt="😉" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /><span id="more-878"></span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-11299" src="https://www.bigbearswife.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Bloody-Magic-Shell-Vampire-Magic-Shell-7.jpg" alt="Bloody Magic Shell - Vampire Magic Shell (9)" width="700" height="467"></p>
<p>Oh and the best part about Halloween and October? We went&nbsp;to Disney World to celebrate Halloween this year!</p>
<p>Ok, well we didn&#8217;t&nbsp;actually go on Halloween, we&nbsp;went&nbsp;a few weeks before Halloween. However it was still awesome to see all of the Halloween decoration out!</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-11295" src="https://www.bigbearswife.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Bloody-Magic-Shell-Vampire-Magic-Shell-3-683x1024.jpg" alt="Bloody Magic Shell - Vampire Magic Shell (9)" width="683" height="1024"></p>
<p>I&#8217;m sure I&#8217;ll be chatting more about that later (ok YOU KNOW I&#8217;ll be chatting more about that later) but let&#8217;s talk about this magic shell!</p>
<p>It&#8217;s the magic shell that&#8217;s just perfect for Halloween! Why? Well because it&#8217;s&nbsp;Vampire Magic Shell &#8211; Bloody Magic Shell!</p>
<p>Yeah, I could decide on if I should call it,&nbsp;Vampire Magic Shell or&nbsp;Bloody Magic Shell for Halloween so I just went with both.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-11296" src="https://www.bigbearswife.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Bloody-Magic-Shell-Vampire-Magic-Shell-4-683x1024.jpg" alt="Bloody Magic Shell - Vampire Magic Shell (9)" width="683" height="1024"></p>
<p>You know what magic shell is right? The chocolate coating that hardens when it touches cold ice cream?</p>
<p>Well now you have a Halloween version!</p>
<p>It&#8217;s still hot here in the south for <a href="https://www.southernhalloweenqueen.com/">Halloween</a> most years so I can totally see myself enjoying one of these fudgesicles&nbsp;that&#8217;s been dipped in magic shell!</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-11297" src="https://www.bigbearswife.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Bloody-Magic-Shell-Vampire-Magic-Shell-5-683x1024.jpg" alt="Bloody Magic Shell - Vampire Magic Shell (9)" width="683" height="1024"></p>
<p>I tried a few different options before I found the one I liked, the one that I&#8217;m posting today. I tried out a few recipes that called for vegetable oil, I tried some that called for cake mix and a few that called for tons of food coloring.</p>
<p>Some were ok and some were downright weird.</p>
<p>I had high hopes for the red velvet cake mix one I tried out but it fell short and turned into more of a dried blood color than the bright red I was going for. The food coloring tries always ended with way too much food coloring that only yielded a weird pink and the vegetable oil ones just didn&#8217;t harden like I wanted it to.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-11300" src="https://www.bigbearswife.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Bloody-Magic-Shell-Vampire-Magic-Shell-8-683x1024.jpg" alt="Bloody Magic Shell - Vampire Magic Shell (9)" width="683" height="1024"></p>
<p>So then I turned to coconut oil and the red melting candy wafers that I had in the pantry. I had almost given up my idea when I spotted the bag of red chocolate in the pantry! I&#8217;m so glad that it caught my eye because it was exactly what I needed for this!</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-11302" src="https://www.bigbearswife.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Bloody-Magic-Shell-Vampire-Magic-Shell-10-683x1024.jpg" alt="Bloody Magic Shell - Vampire Magic Shell (9)" width="683" height="1024"></p>
<p>So whip up some&nbsp;Vampire Magic Shell &#8211; Bloody Magic Shell this evening for your little vampires and monsters.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-11293" src="https://www.bigbearswife.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Bloody-Magic-Shell-Vampire-Magic-Shell-1.jpg" alt="Bloody Magic Shell - Vampire Magic Shell (9)" width="700" height="467"></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Side note! If you&#8217;re looking for the cherry magic shell like Dairy Queens, just make this and add in a little <a href="http://amzn.to/2cd7J9T" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">oil based cherry&nbsp;candy flavoring.</a></p>
